DigiVis DVA

a self-administered test of corrected distance visual acuity

DVA stands for distance visual acuity - distance vision using glasses or contact lenses, if worn.

DigiVis DVA requires two internet-connected devices, one of which functions as a distant letter chart display, replicating a standard logMAR chart. The other device accepts user input for interacting with the test, which may be handheld or stand-mounted.

Any combination of desktop, laptop tablet computer or smartphone can be used, although the size of some smartphones screens may limit their use as a distant display.

3 modes of use:

DigiVis DVA Standard - the default mode, suitable for self-testing at home, in conjunction with remote consultations, or for ad hoc use in any context. The subject must provide both devices.
DigiVis DVA Kiosk - suitable for use in clinical or regulatory environments. It differs from Standard in using a fixed distant letter display device provided by the organisation, with a mark to show the subject where to stand. The user input device can be the subject's own smartphone or tablet, or a device provided by the organisation. Kiosk allows multiple sequential self-tests, for example in a clinic waiting area, and also offers the option of pinhole testing (using an occluder) if indicated.
DigiVis DVA Podium - as Kiosk, but the input device is also fixed and mounted on a stand.

DigiVis DVA provides an estimation of distance visual acuity. It is accurate if used correctly and has been clinically validated. However, it is not a medical examination and should not replace a visit to an eye care professional. We recommend that tests are followed up with a full vision evaluation by an eye care professional, since only they can make a diagnosis, take decisions regarding the need for a prescription, or advise medical treatment.
